2004/2005 events

1st Celtic WebCT Users’ Group Meeting

Date: Friday, 26th November 2004.
Time: 2.15pm – 4.30pm
Location: University of Edinburgh, Wolfson Suite in main university library in George Square, beside the Meadows.

Staff supporting WebCT in Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland are invited to our first meeting. Steve Clark from Birmingham University will be discussing how and why Birmingham has deployed WebCT. We will also be discussing the organisation and aims of the Celtic WebCT Group.


2nd Celtic WebCT Users’ Group Meeting

Date: Friday, 25th February 2005.
Time: 1.00pm – 4.30pm
Location: Reid Kerr College

Staff supporting WebCT in Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland attended the second meeting of the Celtic WebCT User Group. Michael Aherne from Reid Kerr College provided an overview of WebCT 6 with additional feedback from David Dyet and Susi Peacock. Joan Archibald from Reid Kerr will gave a presentation about the implementation of WebCT and a model for developing online materials.


3rd Celtic WebCT Users’ Group Meeting

Date: Friday, 22nd April 2005.
Time: 1.00pm – 4.30pm
Location: University of Stirling

At this event, Derek Jones from WebCT will present on the migration path from Campus Edition 4 to 6. This will be followed by a presentation by staff from Stirling University on their use of WebCT. Then, Dr Nicki Hedge, Director of Guide (Glasgow University Initiative in Distance Education) will talk about Glasgow University’s adoption of Moodle as a tool for learning, teaching and research.
